Before I drop some serious cash on one of those "big bucks" wine textbooks (like "Handbook of Enology" or "Wine Science"), I'd love to know if any of you have a favorite???

Are you talking about grape growing, wine making, or wine?

Thanks WW! (& ha, ha, that is a good book)
The types of books I am looking at are mostly used as textbooks for wine makers, so the info is mainly
viticulture and enology with some info on wine tasting, storage, regions. They run from $100 to $150 each, so
you can see why I am wanting some opinions on which one(s) to buy.
(And yes, I have contacted a few wine makers as to their choice.)

I checked Amazon.com for the two examples you mentioned, and they have them both - or I should say, all three, since one of them is in two volumes. Yup, those are pretty stout prices, but unfortunately typical for quality textbooks. Best wishes, Kat.

Principles and Practices of Winemaking (Boulton et. al), ISBN # 0834212706, published by Aspen Press, about $155 at Amazon.com.

One of the best around IMHO.
