Hotwine, you out there? Everybody pray for Gil, Hotwine, as he was in the path of Ike.
Gil, tell us you're ok and drinking others wine.

Drewski Hotsie was far enough away to where he was only inundated wif' loads of raindrops. On the otherhand, me lovelyCBs' Bro and SIL lived on Crystal Beach on the Balboa Peninsula. Their house is totaled. Iffn' youse guys remember CB and I were about to buy next door when the last one hit. There's not so much as a brick left of it. The whole area is devasted to an extent that befuddles my meager mind. There's 1 (ONE) house left intact out of 87 in his subdivision. On the upside, Dan and Marsha are OK and will probably rebuild. Life goes on. WW ( I'vwe talked to Gilbert and he be Okie-Dokie)

Yup, we're fine here, some 200 miles west of landfall. Was hoping for a few raindrops but those missed us too. We're grateful no storm damage here. Daughter & son-in-law in Bryan (north of Big H) had lots of rain and high winds but no damage at all. Sister-in-law in Houston is still without power, endangering contents of her refrigerator, freezer and winecellar, but she's OK, too. Images from KHOU, a Houston TV and radio station, have been incredible (khou.com). Suspect cadaver dogs will be needed in Galveston and its environs, since the landscape is covered in pick-up sticks. How can folks recover from this sort of thing? Dunno.

Remarkable photos of Ike: http://www.boston.com/bigpicture/2008/09/the_short_but_eventful_life_of.html?s_campaign=8315

Also reading this morning that 'gators are cleaning up the corpses of drowned cattle.

WW, guess your relatives in Crystal Beach evacuated before Hurricane Ike made landfall. Where did they stay during the storm?

Hotsie them are awesome pics Bubba! I've never seen so many replys to any post anywhere, anytime, 916. Gracious some of those people were in the wrong line at the brain-doleout. Our rants and raves thread would be shorted out due to overload. Tankee! WOW his bro-in-law had a house rite behind his on Crystal Beach and their permanant home was in Spring, a suburb of Houston. They stayed in the guest house up there. Still have no tele or TV. WW
