Monticello Sangiovese Wine

I have a few bottles of wine made from the Sangiovese grapes harvested from the vineyard of Thomas Jefferson's Monticello. This wine was first successfully produced in 1999 in a limited quantity (the bottles are all numbered) and at the time appeared to be very popular with collectors because of its historical significance. Does anyone think that it has any collectible value or should I just continue to give it away as unique Christmas gifts?!

Welcome to the Wine Board, Lynn. Keep giving it away, but quickly. It's not going to last much longer. Could that be one of the last wines made at Monticello by my buddy, Michael Shaps?

Thanks for the input! This wine is produced every year by Gabriele Rausse of Charlottesville who also works at Monticello. He had said that the wine is only good for about 7 years but there was such a frenzy of people buying it that first year that I was curious if it really was a collectible!
