I was planning on taking a trip to NYC during spring break to visit my sister in the city but now that I've heard about this I and definately go to reschedule. It will be nice to do something other then shoping on vacation. I have never been able to get my husband to take a trip to NYC with me before but he's pretty excited about this trip.

I can't wait to meet some of the more colorful people at the board.

all the time i've spent on this board and i only now start checking this folder. guess that's cause i'm not a moderator. anyhow, don't know that my wife can make this cause of school, but i'm sure interested. i just realized this will be held one week after our 10th anniversary, so this would be a great celebration for us. hope there's still room at the inn. and get ready to break out those 94 cali cabs, since we were married in 1994 out on catalina island. I bet Winoweenie will supply some '94 Cali cabs. I plan on bringing a red Burgundy that I find to be a special value and maybe a German Riesling to compare with the Finger Lakes varieties. I find three or four bottles is all I can manage when flying so that's pretty limiting. Do we have many Zinfandel fans who are coming?

The weener WILL bring some 94s. Actually if he agrees I'm planning on sending them to Foodie a monrh early so they will have the sediment on the bottom whenced it should be. Or maybe I'll call Glenora and send it there if they agree. WW

WW

You can send the wine directly to us if you wish--it probably will be much safer in our wine cellar than it would be if it were stored near Foodies' corkscrew.

I assume you're thanking him for removing the temptation, not the opportunity, Foodie. BTW, is everyone else planning on bringing a special wine, or two?

KC, you give me too much credit.

I have plans for two rather large bottles (3 liter, and up) I have had for a while, waiting for an opportunity like this.

i was just joking with you, WOW, about the color. i didn't expect you meant the white kind.

and yes, KC, i plan on bringing a bottle or three to share. maybe at some point as the date of the fiesta nears we want to coordinate this and have a signup sheet where we can say what we plan to bring.

we sure wouldn't want to have *everyone* show up with a double magnum of 61 petrus, would we? how embarrassing.

To tag onto this earlier thread....

Under the heading of good news, bad news:

Daughter called us Sunday with some welcome news: her beau proposed on bended knee Sunday and she accepted. What we didn't expect was her planned timing for this happy event - late May '04. Suddenly, our expectations for an idyllic weekend at Finger Lakes with some fellow reprobates - er, winelovers - are headed down a deep dark hole. Will not give odds on us being able to make that trip. Wife very gently tried to steer her toward another weekend, but they have lives, too, and there's the matter of his scheduled graduation (about six years late) and other factors involved, so we'll have to live with their wishes. I'm not cancelling reservations yet, but it sure doesn't look good.
