"Go buy the best current release wine you can find!" What would you buy?

Terre de Trinci Sagrantino di Montefalco 1996, Umbria, hands down. PHAT like that from partial withering but still plenty of deeeeeeeep traditional flavors, $24.99

I am the boss -- do I have to talk to myself?

With $25, I would purchase two wines.... I've been waiting at least 3 years for Banfi's 97' Chianti Classico Riserva to be released.... and when it was, I was not disappointed! Sells for about $14.99 here in PA, and I will be stashing a few cases of it. Next, is the 98' Fossi Chianti which I have to special order by the case, and it sells for about $8.99 a bottle.... it makes for a wonderful everyday drinker. You should be able to find the Banfi easily, but the Fossi you may have to do some searching for. Give them a try.

Somewhere in the background we all hear Bucko still muttering to himself...

"...current release...German riesling... $25...acidity...Oh d#!@, where was I...lost my train of thought again..."

Not a bad idea at all, a host of nice Spatleses can be had for $20. Same with Alsace Gewurztraminer.
