Another Officer killed in my District

Once again my District in Baltimore City, Northeast, has lost yet another officer to unprovoked violence. Officer Michael Cowdery Jr. was gunned down the other night while field interviewing an unrelated subject. We just finished the expansion of the District's indoor memorial to honor the two officers killed last year and now we have to add another....very sad.

Same here. Imediately thought of you, Drew, when I read the story yesterday. BTW, our officer who was shot in the face a couple of weeks ago while trying to subdue a suspect died shortly after arrival at the local hospital. Terrible. Terrible. Our deepest sympathies to family and friends.

Respect for authority and value of life has declined dramatically in this country. Drugs? Family deterioration? Lax courts? Too many individual rights at the expense of society rights? .........

We recently lost a police officer here in the Seattle area as well, Steve Underwood, who also happened to be an old friend of mine. Steve was only 33, and his son turned 2 just a few days after Steve was shot and killed. Cannot imagine what his wife and family must be going through.

Sorry for your loss, CCK. Officer Cowdery was the son of a 28 year active veteran of the Philadelphia PD. Although he has no ties to Baltimore, other than career, his family wants him buried here due to his dedication to this Department. Dulaney Memoral Gardens in Timonium, Maryland (10 miles north of the City) has a large area dedicated to Heros who have died in the line of duty and the owner incurs all costs of interment, Cowdery will rest there.

Dulaney Valley is the name of the area and I don't know the name of the owner but he's spent millions at this site for Fallen Heros...the photo does not do the site justice.
