HELP! Two cases of my wine sitting in Pleasanton, CA

Does anybody know someone in the East Bay area that could pickup up two cases of wine at the BevMo store in Pleasanton and ship to me? A friend was supposed to be visiting out there and was going to do this for me, but his trip was canceled. Problem is, BevMo is offering Ground Transportation (too risky with the current temps) and wants nearly $300 to ship them two day air (which is more than $200 over the going rate). We had someone on here from Pleasanton about 4-5 years ago (cgorenberg) but I haven't seen them since. Californiagirl may know someone in that area. I'll check with her, but don't hold your breath.

hehehe..I got the same problem. I try to take back as much as I can every time but I buy more from k&l then I can bring back...they think I use them as off-site storage ....and that's before the 05 futures arrive...... [img]http://wines.com/ubb/smile.gif[/img]

just making sure i'm not being overly cautious: would everyone agree that i shouldn't even consider having two cases of an '01 alexander valley cab shipped from oakland to washington, d.c. via ground this week?

I just had a case shipped from Huntington Beach by ground, that arrived just fine with no problems.

This time of year is one of the few times of the year that I would trust ground shipping. I just sold a few $300 bottles on winecommune and all buyers opted for ground. Even those in CA. I would have no worries shipping ground now at all.

Newsie don't sweat it! You wont have any problems. Even with the 90* temps down here I've been getting my mailing list juice almost daily. Tell'em to ship them suckers. WW

Kosta Browne will be shipping some Pinot Noir to me soon. Temp is climbing above 80 in the afternoon but will cool down a bit starting in two days they say.

Haven't talked to cg yet, but if you go with ground, make sure they ship on Monday ONLY. That way the wine isn't in a warehouse, or worse, a shipper's truck over the weekend.
