While dining at an Italian restaurant while on vacation, I had an exceptional white wine. I am almost sure that the wine was a Verdiccho and that spelling may be off a little. I do not remember the winery except for the fact that it started with sta. I have searched everywhere, local stores and websites, for this type, since I cannot remember the winery I haven’t bothered pursuing that method, of wine and cannot find it or anything about it. Thanks in advance,

Hi C. Jones, and welcome to the Wine Board. Do any of these ring a bell? Fazi-Battaglia, Verdicchio Dei Castelli Di Jesi, Classico; Fazi-Battaglia, Vercicchio Dei Castelli Di Jesi, San Sisto; or Sartarelli, Verdicchio Dei Castelli Di Jesi, Tralivio. They are all available from www.popswine.com .

Thanks, Innkeeper. The Sartarelli is what it was. I spent 3 hours last night trying to find something on this type, Verdicchio. I finally came across an Italian Winery Page and found that I wasn't losing my mind and that Verdicchio was an actual type of wine. All of my local wine providers thought I was crazy. Thanks for the Sartarelli and I will check out that website!

Your wine providers never heard of Verdicchio? Time to find new wine providers. It amazes me how many wine retailers are in it for the money only.
