I had been gifted with a bottle of wine years ago and would like to know it's value. There seems to be quite a few serial numbers and signatures on the bottle.
Monopole 1973 La Tache imported by C. Daniele & co., Inc. No. 02376 is stamped on the label. Annee 1973
society civile du domaine de la romanee-conti
Wine is a Red Burgundy
32.280 Bouteilles Recoltees
There are 2 signatures below the words "les associes-gerants"
Mise en bouteille au domaine
Thank you for any info.

Hi Leibsl and welcome to the board. Sorry to be the Grinch who spilt the wine, but 73 was a lackluster vintage in Burgandy and even tho this is from one of the great areas of Burgandy the wine is 10 to 1 a gone gosling. You might try Wine-Bid.com and see if they are interested. Happy Holidays. WW

I appreciate your info, but does "gone gossling" mean it is no longer drinkable?

"Gone gosling" is just the weener's cute little way of saying "DEAD DUCK." He means it's not a wine he'd be willing to let pass his lips. I agree with him. The wine may have possibly been pretty good about 5 to 10 years ago if it had impeccable storage. Now, it's a vertical filler. Try www.winebid.com.

OK........."vertical filler"...does this mean no one would buy it or don't drink it. Not only am I learning about wine, but it seems like there is a special language that I'm learning. Does "vertical filler" mean pour it out into the sink?

No. Someone may need this to complete a verticle of La Tache.( Verticle means the same wine in successive vintages ). Sorry but the wine is past salad dressing even(vinegar) but can have value for a verticle. Again, try Wine-bid.com. WW
