I know nothing about wine, but need to plan a dinner for a few high profile guests in which wine is served.

It's a French restaurant, and we're having Veal, Dover Sole Meuniére, Chicken stuffed with Zucchini, Filet Mignon Mushroom Sauce and a Vegetarian Selection.

The wine list features Reds from Bordeaux: Chateau Garraud Lalande De Pommerol (1996), Chateau D'Arcins Haut Medoc (1998); Whites: Chateau Jean Jean Bourgogne Appelation and Tourraine Sauvignon. The list also includes a selection of White Burgandy, Loire Valley, Red Burgandy, Rhone, and White and Red Bordeaux.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi Amara, and welcome to the Wine Board. Don't know how extensive their Loire list is, but they would be your best bets. For your white go with a Sancerre or Pouilly Fume (both sauvignon blancs), and for your red a Chinon or Saumur-Champigny (both cabernet franc). These will cover all your selections nicely. If you have to go with what you listed, would go for the Sauvignon and the Pommerol
