Hi-
It's the winedope again. I'm looking for a really nice wine that I recently had at a restaurant, but haven't found yet myself. It is a Maricopa Cabernet, 1997. Any ideas or thoughts on this wine ??

That is definitely the correct spelling. I had it at a restaurant in Rhode Island.

Are you sure you have the spelling right? Or did you have it on a trip to Arizona? It could be a proprietary wine sold in a hotel or wine shop in Maricopa, AZ. Otherwise, haven't got a clue.

OK Winedope, here's all I could turn up:

Maricopa Vineyards is apparently a California producer of the usual suspect varietals: cab, merlot, chard. Thus, IMHO, a questionable source. Be that as it may, they are active on the wine competition circuit & have garnered a few 'awards'. However, no website or winery info to be found.

So, two contacts for you to try: these are restaurants that serve the Maricopa wines & thus may be able to direct you to a source.

1) A restaurant in Radnor, PA: Name -- 333 Belrose Restaurant & Bar; Phone -- (610) 293-1000

2) In Philadelphia, PA: Name -- The Valley Green Inn; Phone -- (215) 247-1730

Happy hunting,
cp-sleuth
