Hello:
I am the happy owner of a 1949 Richebourg Red Burgundy wine bottle, yes 1949, from France, in excellent condition, I would like to find out where can I sell it, I bought from a friend that needed cash about ten years ago, and now I would like to see my profits, can you tell me how much can it cost in these days?? and where could I sell it??
I also have a bottle of Chateau Laffitte Rottschild 1975, from Phillipe laffite, for sale to tjhe best bidder,it has a number but I would have to retieve it from the bottle. Thanks

You can check with the Wine Spectator web-site. There you might get an idea about the worth of your wine.

You might find it difficult to sell a single bottle, even assuming that the wine has been properly stored all these years.

You might also want to check with Sotheby's for information about your wine.

I would suggest that you purchase a couple of very decent back-up bottles for the wine you have. Then plan one heck of a fine meal or a couple of very fine meals - one for each.

Have the wine yourself for the dinner(s). If it is good, you can use the back-up(s) later. If not, well open the back-up right away.

Either way, enjoy

I double checked the Wine Spectator on-line database and they had no notes for the 1975 Chateau Lafite. They did have some information for the 1949 Richebourg and the price I noted was about $1400.00.
