If you compare what members of this board consume to what the rest of the nation consumes on a per-capita basis you will have a somewhat skewed view.

In the U.S., when you avegare all adults in, the daily or even weekly wine intake is so small it is difficult to measure.

In my home, half a bottle per person each day, with a few days when we simply toss out fate to the wind....

"avegare" foodie? From the looks of it, I think you consume a little more than half a bottle a day.
On a serious note: I'm more of a weekend warrior. I consume about one to two glasses of wine per day and then one to two bottles on the weekend. Wine doesn't kill brian callls!

Far from it. Now that I've been busting you, I have to check my typing and spelling repeatedly to make sure that its error free. Hey, can you suggest a good Primitivo at an affordable price that, now here's the tough part, is easy to find?

I can, but only if you live nearby. Wait until Dutton returns, he might have an answer for you. I now know where the edit icon is....

Foodie , I`m back and you can assure Welluvwine ( Welcome to the board) that I`m not posting my consumption as it wouls skew the results so badly he`d need to contact half the population of West Jordan, Utah to restore balance. Winoweenie

I thought that half a bottle to a full bottle a day was the norm.......... At least it is in this house.

As for the Primitivo, I'm looking!

Maybe Drew can give you some local information for the Primitivo. Closest I could find for you is on Long Island, but they ship just about anywhere:

Pergamum, I've had several bottles of 1999 A-Mano Primitivo, all purchased at $10 or less per bottle. I talked about this wine on 5/16 in the Best Buys folder. I haven't had many Primitivo wines but this one is very tasty and I see it offered in many wine stores in and around Baltimore.

Winoweenie, had a great time on the trip. I e-mailed a trip report to IK. If he says its not too long or too boring then I'll post it somehwere here in one of the forums.

My blushing child bride is enamoured by drinks such as the great Tom Collins, but I can't seem to get her to consume much wine. So, the 1/2 to 1 whole bottle a day is MY consumption. Every now and then my blushing dear has a half-glass. Drats.

Dutton, you are lucky. I curse the day I taught my wife to enjoy wine; now I have to measure each glass when I pour so that she is sure I do not take more out of the bottle than she gets....

MrD and Foods, I told youse guys long ago that the seperation of marriage and wines is only possible when you`re lucky `nuff to have a CB that only drinks SW`s and leaves your reds alone. Long live Veramonte 98 Chard ( which could be a best buy at 7.99) Thank you Agustin ! Winoweenie

My bride hated reds until about a year ago....now she won't even consider drinking a white. The one good part, though, is now she doesn't gripe about all the reds I buy!

I'm in the right company. Like Foodie's, my CB also measures our glasses to ensure she's not short-changed on portions.
