2005 Estancia Shiraz, Central Coast

Anyone know anything about this wine? Googling gets me nowhere. I found an "Estancia" website (www.estanciaestates.com), but could not find a 2005 Shiraz in their wine list. There's a 2004 SYRAH listed, but that's it. I realize it's the same grape, but the inconsistency is strange.

I'm just trying to find out if I got a good deal. Dierbergs had it marked half price at $9, so I grabbed the last one. I have no idea if they tend to overly mark-up or not. Will probably bring it to a friend's for dinner this weekend. Hopefully it will not disappoint.

I'm guessing the grape name change might have something to do with change of ownership. I know that it is under the Franciscan umbrella and a few years back they sold to Constellation (I think - one of the mega-giants).

It's probably a marketing ploy. I'm not sure if the winemaker is the same but I'm pretty sure the property is.

$9.00 sounds like a deal actually. I would have put it in the $12-13.00 range.
