I am by no means an expert but my friend who claims to be one, says that Kiante is a preferred wine. I always thought of it as lesser quality wine. Not one of with considerable reputation in the wine community.

I could be wrong in this area, but I always thought of it related to say Boones Farm.
OK, maybe that's going a little far.

I would appreciate any information and or opinion on the subject. Don't want to argue a point uninformed...

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the board.
Do you mean Chianti, the Italian wine made from Sangiovese grapes? The old jug Chianti imported to the States back in the'70s was pretty bad, but the the more recent stuff, especially Chianti Classico, is very nice. We have several different labels in our cellar.
