Wine Clubs in the DC area

Our friends just moved from Napa to Washington DC -- you've never seen a more disappointed couple. It's not that they don't like DC, but they're certainly going to miss California wines. I would like to give them a gift subscription to a wine club specializing in California wines, but I can't find any in the DC area. Obviously I can't just sign them up for one in California because of state laws in DC/Virginia...

Any ideas?
