Moving wine from the frig

I have three bottles of wine on hand in my refrigerator. I have a party planned soon and will need all of the refrigerator space available to store food. If I remove the chilled wine, will it be ruined by being cold, moved to room temperature, then evenutally back to the frig to be chilled before I open?

Hi Tokim, and welcome to the Wine Board. Yes. There just has to be some spoiled stuff that could just go into the can. If the bottles are lying down, and you need that shelf space, you could stand them up in another part of the refrigerator for a few days.

Hi Evil, and welcome to the Wine Board. Only cool down your cabernet if it is stored in a temperature above 65 degrees. In that case you would want to get it down there. Figure 10 minutes in an average fridge per degree F. As far as your Hungarian is concerned, give it a shot. We recently uncorked a '95 Croatian we brought home with us, and it was wonderful.
