HELLLOOO!
I am very new to wines. I have had three- I'm sure not very good-wines in my entire life. I am looking for wine classes in the NYC area, information on how to go about becoming informed in the art of wine.
thank you

Last I heard, there were wine courses at Windows on the World, and I'm sure there are many others...have we got some Easterners out there to help out?

If you want to try some learning at home, two very good books are The Windows on the World Wine Course and The University Wine Course...both should be available through book stores or you may purchase them from Wine Trader Book Services (800) 845-9463.

The International Wine Center in Manhattan, run by Wine Master Mary Ewing Mulligan, offers a very thorough introductory course on wines and wine tasting. But before you do that, you mightwant to go to some lower-key tasting evenings at places like the Learning Annex, the 92nd St. Y, The Mark Hotel, etc.

Or the Barnes and Noble wines and spirits section!

Cheers,

Scoop
