Go to stratsplace.com . Click on Wine, go to the Wine Glossary. Every grape in the world is described in detail there. For your general information all the names your listed are varietal names for wines. That means the wine was named after the grape.

To expand on Inn Keeper site. . .You might want to check out winespectator.com. Click on "increase your wine IQ" on the left side of the screen. Not only does this page provide you with info on varietals, but also on the subtle nuances of wine tasting, wine opening, wine collecting, and on, and on. So, enjoy!!!!

Another source, albiet not free, is Oz Clark's book "The Essential Wine Book." Gives fairly detailed information of grape varieties, tastes, and regions around the world without reading like an Encyclopedia Brittanica. He's a little stuffy, but this text has helped me a great deal.

Actually, if you compare Oz Clarks opinions from just a couple of years ago to the present, I've seen a noticeable change in his taste and ratings. My taste didn't agree much with his before, but I have seen he's changed some of his opinions since then. He's coming around, just give him some more time!

Now if only we could talk some sense into that Willie Gluckstern guy!
