Hi Jenna, and welcome to the Wine Board. It should be available in almost any supermarket. If you can't find it, try Reunite. How are you folks getting along since they closed the base? Believe it or not, have been to Oscoda a couple of times.

Thanks InnKeeper for welcoming me. Darn! Was really hoping to impress my Italian Mom in law who says Cello was discontinued due to some scandal years back. But, That's ok. You're right Reunite is just as good. Since the base closed we have had like 3 airplane repair places come and go right now it's Kalitta again. We also have Oscoda Plastics Factory and Tip Top screw Factory. Other than that not a whole lot. Still the same. When were you last here. I have been here since 1988.

Are you sure that the name is Cello? I've checked a number of sources and can't find that brand. However, I did find Cella Lambrusco.

KC is right Cella is the brand I am familar with. I retired from the Air Force in early '88, and visited Oscoda two times during the previous six years.

Hello Jenna,

The importer listed for Cella Lambrusco is Shaw-Ross which is one of the biggest importers in the country.

Here is a link to their website:

http://www.shaw-ross.com/www/wines/content.aspx?WINE_ID=164&CONTENT_ID=1072

I would write to them (they should answer quickly) and ask them who distributes that particular wine in your area. Please give them nearest major city.

When you have the distributors name call the distributor and ask to speak with the brand manager for that brand. They will welcome the call because they understand that they are ultimately serving you! They can tell you who, if anyone, has the product in your area.

Since it's still on Shaw-Ross' website they haven't discontinued it so Mom-in-law is wrong!

Got a reply quick from the big company, but the distibutor in Detroit hasnt answered me yet. Maybe I should have my Aunt Dorothy check around down there in a few liquor stores.
