Which Wine goes best with an Italian dinner?

Hi Ajs, and welcome to the Wine Board. How would you feel if I said, Italian Wine? Haven't found any generic Italian Food yet, and indeed, Italy has among the most varied cuisines in the world, save China.

So, we'll have to guess. Is it pasta with tomato sauce? If you prefer the acid in the tomatoes to be matched with acidic wine as I do, go with a Chianti Classico. If you want a contrasting wine, go with Salice Salentino. Both of these are available most anywhere.

If your dinner consists of something else; you'll just have to let us know.
