Hi Maries and welcome to the board. Since in the production the residual sugar in wine is converted into alcohol there is very little RS left in most of the wine on the market today. When it gets above 1.5 it is normally noted on the label. You didn't state whether you like red or white so I'm assuming you were talking about wine in general. Most of the Cabernet Sauvignons (red) and Chardonnays(white) are vinted to almost zero sugar. You can go online to most wineries websites and inquire about specific products. WW

Yes there is sugar in wine and white usually but not always has more than red.

I am diabetic also and only drink red wine and never more than 2 glasses at night. Ever now and then I might get wild when I have company and have 3. But I check my sugar ever morning and for me it does not affect my readings. You may want to run a test and have a glass of wine than check your fasting levels the next morning. If you see no change try two glasses. ALSO TALK WITH YOUR DOCTOR. Mine knows and says keep an eye on it.

I would have to agree with winoweenie in that Cabernet Sauvignons tend to have a low sugar content. Start with those and move on from there!
