I am trying to find out a wine that is a Chardonnay but it is a lighter version. I can't remember the name - maybe a rose Chardonnay? Does anyone know?

Hi Sny, and welcome to the Wine Board. Chardonnay is a white grape, so it would not turn rose in a lighter versions. Are you thinking of another grape/wine such as zinfandel that comes as a rose/blush in lighter versions. If you want a light fruity chardonnay look for Cave De Lugny, "Les Charmes", Macon Lugny, Chardonnay. That sounds like a mouthful, but it is very popular and very widely distributed around the country.

Thank you Innkeeper for your suggestions. I wish I could find out what this wine was. A friend of mine served it at a party but does not remember. I remember thinking that I didn't know a Chardonnay came like this but it was definitely a Chardonnay and not a Zinfandel.

It definitely wasn't a rose if it was a Cardonnay. Maybe it was from someplace like Corbett Canyon, Estrella, Hacienda or some such other bulk type Chard.
