I have recently read books on wine "basics". I know that a huge part of learning about wines is simply tasting them. Should I go to a Liquor store, or simply the local grocery store? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Stock_Kahuna, and welcome to the Wine Board. There are a couple of approaches. You could go the local super, and decide on what you have read would go with what you are planning to eat that night. Or you could go the the local wine merchant, and tell him or her what your meal plans were, and ask for a recommendation. Is either approach the right one; maybe yes, and maybe no; who can tell?
