I recently saw a movie with a cabernet/merlot blend. Can anyone suggest a good one? Also, has anyone ever tasted a Nebbiolo wine?

Hello Chelly,

Welcome to the Wineboard! I would suggest that you go to a reputable wineshop and ask them about the Cab/Merlot blend. There are a lot of good ones out there...we just don't know which ones are available to you.

As for Nebbolio, well that is the main grape in many Italian wines...the most famous being Barolo and Barbaresco. When young most will be almost translucient like Pinot Noir although they will have much more prominent tannins than Pinot. When older they almost become caramel in color and are exquisite. If you can afford to buy them in a good year and cellar them properly then they are definately worth it.

JMHO.

Fortunately for you, Chelly, you have a wine store that's been called one of "America's Top Wine Shops" by Wine Enthusiast. That's the Brown Derby Wine Cellar on Clayton Rd. in Chesterfield. If you go there, I'm sure you'll get plaenty of expert advice.
