I see net links in other people's posts yet I cannot seem to find a way to change an URL in text into a usable link????

All I do is copy (control+c) the whole text string and then paste it (control+v) onto my Netscape address line, and hit "enter."

That concept comes from Mac OS and has been "borrowed" by Microsoft, yet those who were trained on DOS never got the message...

Yes, you can do that but some people are managing to past usable direct links into their posts and I don't know how.

Bucko, I know I have seen posts (from IK maybe) with blue highlit, active links in them. This would not bring up a picture or anything, just a link you can click on...

How do you do that?

What you have to do when you make a post is to look to the left. If it says HTML in on you can do it like this: http://www.is-wine.com/index.html If is says HTML is off (which is usually says) you can't.

Wow, maybe I should translate the Country classic "How can I miss You if you won't go away?" into Portogues????

All this begs the question: Why is HTML sometimes on and mostly off? The point of the net is links, yes?

And if the html is usually off, how did IK manage to do the link in his example?

It has something to do with some big, secret society. I've brought this up in the past and was sluffed off like a geek at a high school football game. Enable HTML...Enable HTML, woop, woop, woop, woop.

I hate to demystify the Board, which is truly magical when you see how much congeniality surrounds the learning & sharing and sparing that goes on here...

But the time clock thing was actually my doing... an experiment that went wrong. The timestamp should NOW be accurate.

Do you want me to activate HTML in all forums? I'd like to know your thoughts, everyone.

Jackie

Jackie, looks like you got blue colors fixed, and the lightbulbs seem to be working correctly today. The only thing I do not get are color changes on the folders (or are they suitcases?) when others post on them.

Foodie,

Is it still happening? I fixed something today that should solve the problem (see Troubleshooting post).

Let me know if it is still happening.

Thanx
