Jsut spent a little time up in Calgary again these last few days (left Victoria and Vancouver which were both in rough shape after the harsh storms). Nice little below ground wine store in the middle of the downtown shopping district just a few stores down from B&O, Murrietta's and the Fairmont Palliser hotel. Nice place and a decent selection for those of you who find yourself with a bit of time. They also hold the occasional wine class.

I heard Stanley Park got beat up pretty bad. That's a shame.

Stanley park lost at least 3000 large trees!!!! (and we are talking about diameters that are measured in feets!!) The park is absolutely devastated. I've never seen 6 feet wide trees snapped like twigs. On Victoria Island, much is the same. Lots of homes damaged or completely destroyed too.
