Soap and water is a good start, however try to steer clear of any soaps that have a heavy fragrance. Little or no fragrance detergents are the best. Sometimes those faux "ocean breezes" and "garden potpourri's" can interfere with the nose and taste of your wine.

We use Seventh Generation Free and Clear dishwashing liquid. It has no dyes, fragrances, phosphates or petroleum based cleaners. It works very well because it leaves no residues or scum on the glasses.

I recently read that dishwashing soap, no matter fragrance free, is NOT the way to go when it comes to washing our wine glasses.

It was recommended to use a washing soda (not like baking soda because baking soda clumps). Of course, Arm & Hammer makes a washing soda, other brands are TipKing and Sal.

Will, I simply rinse Riedels in hot water and blot them dry with a paper towel. If they're stained, a teaspoon of OxiClean with the hot water works great. But be sure to blot them dry under any circumstances.

IK,

I get it at Whole Foods. They have a version for use in dishwashers, also.

Our new dishwasher has a cycle of some sort that CB uses that does a jam-up job of cleaning without breaking. Being completely technically deficient I don' know what it is. WW
