1996 Domaine de la Madone, Beaujolais Le Perreon, Vieilles Vignes - This is a North Berkeley import. Nose of bright cherry and light strawberry, with hints of spice, and earth. Seems to have evolved nicely with a year in the cellar, the bing cherry and strawberry fruit have sweetened up a bit, and the spice, so noticeable a year ago, has receded to an accent. Notes of earth/light barnyard add some Burgundian
style flavors. Very nice, and should be prime drinking in another 6-8 months. Approx..88-89.
