Received a bottle of Lustau East India Solera Sherry as an early gift.

Any pairing recs, or should it just be an after dinner sipper one evening over the holidays?

Sherry is great with various soups--pumpkin, squash, that kind of stuff. Also great with nuts and SOME olives, the milder ones.

Also can go well with certain desserts--some cookies (choc chip), bahklava.

We like to quaff Solera in the afternoon. Maybe with some almonds.

Mmmmmm. Baklava.

Also have some almonds on hand, so maybe I'll have it with both at different times.

Of course, now I'm also going to have to make a winter squash soup for my wife.

Thanks, all! Will let you know how it turns out and what I pair it with.
