Happy day to all dads and granddads. Our kids and grandkids are letting me smoke three chickens today. Have tubs of potato and pasta salad at the ready, and some green veggies to boil up. Bring on the Riesling!

This Father's Day has given me proof of global climate change. Every year for the past 22 one particular rose bush in front of our house, the variety of which we know not, had bloomed without fail on Father's Day.

This year, the roses were out last week. Build that ark NOW!
