The great tenor sax man Illinois Jacquet died at 81. He played with just about everyone -- Cab, Basie, Dizzy, Miles, Ella, Louis, you name it. Think I'll throw on some old Count Basie stuff this evening and pop a bottle.

The other day Emile Peynaud died at 91, in Bordeaux. He was a giant for the wine industry; an educator and scientist who truly revolutionized wine technology.
