It's been quite a weekend for Husker fans! The Heisman and the Rose Bowl invitation! I'm a little embarrassed because Colorado has a legitimate beef about not being selected for the Rose Bowl but we'll take it! The BCS system does not really replace the need for a playoff when there is only one major team undefeated or if there are three teams undefeated. I'm very happy about both the Heisman and the Rose Bowl. I only home Miami doesn't humiliate the Huskers on January 3rd.

The Heisman selection committee needs to do some homework, as do the yutz's that gave Crouch QB of the year. As a QB, he threw 7 touchdowns and 10 Interceptions. His running AND passing yard totals barely could compete with the real QB's passing yard totals. It seems funny to honor a QB who has yet to master the tricky art of the foward pass. And as to Nebraska getting into the rose bowl...

Barnsey I sense a touch of hostility in your post to WOW. He had no vote in the matter, and as I see it, is simply giving a lil' " NA NA NANA NA " to youse Oregonians. WW

No hostility towards WoW, just hostility to some obsurdity in the system.

That's okay, Barnesy. It will be interesting to see if Colorado or Oregon is better in the Fiesta Bowl. I'm not making any bets either way, but Colorado has a lot of skilled players.

Being a PNWer, I'd like to see OR win, but I do not think they are in the same league as Nebraska. I'm afraid it will be lopsided.

I think Oregon would match up pretty well against Nebraska, if they were playing. Oregon has defended the run well this year, they are fast on defense and don't overpursue. They have great defenesive backs and crouch sure as heck isn't going to beat anyone in the air, so Oregon could stuff 8 or 9 in the box every time and get the job done. As it is, Oregon and Colorado should be one heck of a match up.
