We just did our last-day-of-school ritual. All of the staff (over 100 of us) walk to the end of the school driveway and wave good-bye to the buses as they pull out with our 900+ students. It's definitely a time of mixed emotions for students and teachers. One sad thing is that a couple of buses that go to the poorer sections of town generally have a lot of teary little faces staring out of the windows. School is the best part of the lives of those kids. They don't look forward to summer like most of us do. We always notice that. But, time to slam the lid on another year and break out the vino!

Congratulations on another year, Georgie!

We're into our third week of preschool summer camp. Since I didn't want to hire a teacher, I'm working in it myself. I have not worked with preschool-age kids in almost 10 years (I mainly worked with middle schoolers before opening my school). It has been an experience! I do have to admit, however, that I'll be happy to see some middle school kids again in September

Enjoy your evening, and enjoy the summer!

I'm guessing we'll get to see a few port TNs from you in the near future

Oh my, preschoolers! You'll be in for a long summer, my friend. A friend called to invite me over for a burger and when I arrived with the bottle of Merlot that I had grabbed on the way out my door, I had a strawberry margarita thrust into my hand. After four of those and a delicious grilled shell steak dinner, I forgot all about the Merlot. Heck, I forgot about most everything....Next time...
