to replace/upgrade the little engagement ring that was purchased for the wife when you were a poor grad student surviving on student loans. Evidently, Anne's happy with the new ring, as I've been the recipient of 3 mixed cases of wine that contain some very exciting things that are almost impossible to find here in GA. She must have been to every wine store in the Atlanta area finding these things and/or moved Heaven and Earth. Some neat things included in the cases:

2000 and 2001 Clos Mogador Priorat
1999, 2000, and 2001 Numanthia Termes and Toro bottlings
1999 and 2000 Chateau La Nerthe CdP
2000 and 2001 Guigal CdP
2000 Domaine Rene Engel Echezeaux Grand Cru
1999 Domaine Drouhin-Laroze Chambertin Clos de Beze Grand Cru
1996 Chateau Musar
2002 Ken Wright Nysa Vineyard Pinot Noir
2001 Beaux Freres "Les Cousins"
2000 Carabella Pinot Noir

I could go on and on, and the "filler" was nicely selected, too, with some hard-to-find sub $15 stuff from Cahors and Bierzo, etc.

I am a very happy guy, and it's not even Valentine's Day yet!

TOO SMART YOU CUNNING,CONNIVING DEVIL!!! That is very heart-warming. She did have some knowledge and maybe some help as they are, as you said, a tough find at this date. Congratulations. WW

I'm eager to hear about the 1999 Clos de Beze although you probably should check that it's not in a closed down period if you want to drink it soon, and it might need five years' or more of patience if you want to drink it as a mature Burgundy. I had a taste of the 1999 Raphet Clos de Beze and was blown away. The 2000 Grand Cru may reach its peak ahead of the 1999s.
I also look forward to hearing about the Oregon Pinot Noirs.

Georgie, she would prefer a Port. And I think you and she will have a great time sipping Port together at Glenora.

I'm bringing her a Port she'll like, I hope. She must really be busy with them lil' critters wrapping up their semester exams. Just hadn't heard much from her lately and miss her euridite observations. WW

I haven't been neglecting you guys...just haven't been drinking wine since I started WW in January. (and boy! do I miss it!) Actually I can have a little now and then, but I haven't wanted to open a bottle and have to throw half of it out. When you meet me, you'll realize that the diet is way more important than the wine! But it's nice to hear I've been missed.

Three of the four corners of this classroom are already occupied. Some boys, known around the building as "The Big Three" were placed in my class this year because the administration thought that I could best handle them. Thank you so much. If ever I needed a drink at the end of the day, it's this year. Yesterday I found one looking up "hump" in the dictionary. Pray for me.

Georgie,

If they're looking up "hump", you should ask them if they know which has one hump and which has two - a bactrian or a dromedary.

I liked doing the Atkin's Diet a few years ago (before it became fashionable) because I could have a glass or two a day without problem. I had looked into WW, but couldn't deal with that Vegetable Soup every day!!
