So pleased to hear. When my nephew and his wife had a baby I sent Leah a card the gist of it being "They're messy and smelly and completely helpless, depending on you for everything--but enough about your husband, congratulations on the new baby"

Robert's not in the cards (I don't think). They haven't divulged the name yet, though John may be the middle name.

The Birth Center has a large framed piece on the wall with a lot of pithy sayings on it by various authors (even the ubiquitous Anon). One of them really struck me, and I don't remember the author. Anyway, it said "During most stages of their lives, children may not always be listening to you, but they are always watching you." Very wise words!!

Just a passing thought. Verne John makes for an impressive first statement. My very best to youse and sweet Judy. Keep us informed. Weight, length, and color of hair...If you have time tell us about the baby also. WW

Congrats indeed. I have no idea of why, but to me, Rodney John has quite the ring to it. I may have even seen it in print somewhere... oh yes, on my drivers license...

As long as we're suggesting names I think "Drewski John" makes quite a statement! Congrats to PoP-PoP and MeMom.

That quotation about they may not always listen to you but they always watch you--at about 18 months of age Meredith was photographed sitting on the floor with a sippy cup nearby "reading" the sports page of the paper (just like her Dad). Leah captioned it--here's a child that watches her father VERY closely.

Cute! and by the way, there's nothing wrong with George John as a name. Quite alliterative, don't you think?

The name they finally chose is Nicholas John. Oh yeah, he was 7 - 5 and 20 inches at birth.

A fine name for a fine boy! As a teacher, I'm always happy when a baby is named something nice, normal, and spelled the traditional way!
