I was just reading about the dinner Chris Kimball and crew made based on a Victorian era menu. The recipes are based on Fannie Farmer's from the Boston Cooking School. They started cooking the 12 course dinner on a Tuesday for a Saturday service. If you're at all interested, you can read about it (and see videos and stills) at www.fannieslastsupper.com. To further pique your interest, they also have the wine list and the after dinner drink list.

Bob,

The book will be released in a few days; I'll be getting it.

Where did you find the wine and drink list? I didn't see it on the Web site.

Foodie - the wine list button is up at the top of the Web page.

Interesting that the list leads off with the 1990 Clicquot La Grande Dame and that commentary calls it quite rare; wine-searcher.com lists several vendors across the country offering it for $175-$210. (I happen to have one lonely bottle, still in its now-moldy box.)

Thanks, Hotwine.

Those tiny headings at the top of Web sites always escape my eyeglasses...
