So today must have been an absolutely nerve racking day if you wanted to get both....Sony playstation 3 was introduced and millions of people lined up for 400,000 units. Wine Spectator announces their top wine of the year in the 2001 Casanova di Neri BdM and millions of point chasers go after 4800 cases..... oh well.

If you had to choose, which one would you line up for and have no chance to get due to pent up demand and limited supply. Did you hear about the paint ball gun incident at one of the Sony lines? Sad.....

In truth I went to line up for the Sony but left around 3:00 am when it was clear that there was no hope in hell. All the stores said that they did not want a repeat of the Xbox 360 release issues....and what did they do? they did exactly the same thing. It's a wonder that people don't get killed at these things. Only a matter of time I tell you. As for the BdM? oh well.... plenty of other nice wine to drink.

BdM on winecommune for $100 per. PS 3 on eBay for 1000-2000. I'll take neither as I think video games are silly and can find tons of other 97 point wines for less.

I do not call video games silly (or anything else someone has a passion for), but I do consider them a brain drain. I just do not have the time to indulge. I certainly would not line up for the PS3, the wine or anything else -- too many wines, too little time.

Didn't mean to insult ya Engineer. I hope this won't start another political debate, but I feel many of these games are a real intro into violence for children. Chopping off heads and stealing cars are the games they crave. Now when I was a kid we had the Atari 2600. Pitfall, Frogger, and the like. Never ended up getting eaten by an Aligator or killing a frog. Well, maybe with my car, but it was an accident.

I will wait for the PS3 for about a year to make sure that Sony 1)fix the glitches, 2)it get cheaper, and 3)some real good games come out.

As of the wine, if I had the money I may go for it just to help me wait...

Seeing the dopes get trampled running into stores for a teenagers toy just reinforces what an unsophisticated country this truly is. Now if my wine shop had a sale on Bordeaux I'd be there at 3am, and I'd beat the crap out of anyone who took my place in line.

I was in New York this weekend for a bit of shopping...went by times square at midnight only to see the lineup for the Nintendo Wii. Wow. it was long but they were entirely different crowd. Nice and jovial. They were cracking jokes at each other all night. There was a high school marching band playing on the street looking for donations (I think it was an organizatino called kids helping kids). Nice bunch. Always high energy in NYNY and at Times Square. Then saw line later that night at Rockefeller center's NintendoWorld Shop...it was HUGE!!!!

I went back later today when the lines died down and walked into a short line to pick up two units.....Glad I did not wait over night for these things but they are an interesting technology. The controllers required physical movement. I.E. if you are playing a tennis game, you need to swing like you swing a racket. yes I prefer to go out an play tennis but in the dog days of winter, when we are all wondering why we are not WW's neighbour in the warm sun, we can pick up this unit and pretend..... or we can play the sword game all day long

Yes, yes... Us Nintendoans are far more sophisticated (older) than the PS3 people..
Am looking forward to buying the Wii in a couple of years when it's good and cheap and doing some sword-fightin!

"Baby, you did NOT just finish that Huet!
What? You did? I challenge you to a duel!!!"

And all without having to build up quads for fencing!
