I suscribe to a newsletter called the Rosengarten Report put out by David Rosengarten, mainly because it has some decent stuff in it about where to get interesting food stuffs and wines. Stephen Tanzer generally writes the wine reports, but not this month. Rosengarten starts off by lamenting the ads, catalogs and emails offering Italian wines for sale. He says from reading them you'd think Italy had only two wine regions - Toscana and Piemonte. That is until he got a catalog from the Wine Expo. He says as he read, his jaw dropped. It had none of the usual stuff, but "Instead, wacky, wonderful looking Italian reds.....from all over Italy." So, he ordered four cases - some he asked for and some Roberto suggested he try. So, he tastes them and rates twelve of them from Sicily, Puglia, Campania, Marche and Lombardy, with prices ranging from $4.99 to $55. He's now a huge fan of our Bota and he's urging one and all to call the Wine Expo and order mucho wine. In fact, he includes an order code for subscribers and they'll get 10% off their first orders. Way to go, Roberto! We knew you were special, but don't go letting your super stardom get to you.

David Rosengarten has a good following. Roberto should see a spike in sales from this.

Anyone ever read David's book, Red Wine With Fish, written with Josh Wesson of Best Cellars?

Fortunately or unfortunately,

My local shop has a very similar philosophy as Roberto on Italians, so I don't have to send all the way to california to get good ones. I love the wacky inexpensive super good juice coming out of back country italy.

His latest writeup is really wacky. I was having a bit of a down day until I read it.....deep brooding reds from Denmark....heheheh..

Thanks guys! I have yet to see the article but my guys say it is working. I will be back on the 4th and will report on the new high quality sparkling wine zone in southern Brasil (really, the French are investing millions and millions of Euros!)....
