Please anyone if you can help. I am having a dinner on 19 February (tomorrow). I am having a reception at the beginning and would like some suggestions for a light red, white and possible chardonnay to start off with Hor D'oeuvres. Dinner- we have a selection of fish and lobster, chicken, and saute beef dishes. Some suggestions would be most helpful. The food has a french style to it.

I would be most greatful for any help!

Thanks a bunch!

For the hors d'oeuvres a Chiroubles or other Cru Beaujolais and a Macon Villages (Chardonnay). For dinner a Sancerre (Sauvignon Blanc) would go with the first three things, and a Chinon (Cabernet Franc) would go with your beef.

Too late to help, but I just wanted to commend Innkeeper for recommending Chinon. Anyone who proselytizes in support of Cab Franc is doing the work of God! One of my favorite wines of all time is 1988 Cab Franc from Italy's Castelcosa (winemaker--Franco Furlan). Good Chinon is all that and a bag of chips....
