RAMBLING ONE: This coming Saturday, the city of Norfolk will be celebrating cinco de Mayo with a big bash at the town park (on the shores of the Elizabeth River) and other events.

Many people think that this day in Mexican history marks the Independence Day for Mexico. This is simply not true.

Check the following website for some interesting information:

http://www.vivacincodemayo.org/history.htm

RAMBLING TWO: I recently applied to the National Wildlife Federation to have my yard certified as a "Backyard Wildlife Habitat". I filled out the two page application, added an hand rendered drawing showing my landscape plan and included 37 color photographs to document my landscape. I sure hope they agree and award the certification. Presently there are only about 28,000 or so places so certified. Check out this web site:

www.nwf.org/habitats/index.html

Rambling one I found interesting. Rambling two is something I will be quite proud of, if it happens.

I certainly appreciate your enthusiastic encouragement.

Any who wish to witness: I'm selling admission tickets to the grass cutting scheduled for this coming Sunday morning. BYOB, but grilled hamburgers are included plus a complete tour of the habitat.

All for a meager 4-bits. (Visitors must make their own transportation arrangements to the habitat site.)
