The Cardinals are going to wing whip them severely.... Go Birds!

Actually, I'm pulling for Detroit -- they seem like the underdog this year.

I really could care less who's in it. It's really just an excuse to put on a good spread and haul out some good wine (sorry Georgie).

I'm in the "anybody but the Yankees!" camp. Dee-troit looked good last night, and the Mets' game tonight should be a good one.

(Still in a funk for the Dodgers' move to L.A. back in the Dark Ages...)

I'm also anyone but the Yankees. My "teams" haven't been doing so well lately (Orioles and Kansas City Royals) but I can root for Detroit as an underdog and since I lived in Michigan for two years. (And my roommate's boyfriend had us memorize the names of the Tigers' starting lineup--I think that was when Al Kaline was still playing) My roommate's father was the baseball coach at the University of Nebraska so I'm surprised we didn't try to attend some of the Tiger games. Maybe it was because I left Michigan in June after the school year ended. Also have some empathy with Oakland from living in Monterey County and attending one Oakland game (the only other major league ballparks I've been in are Camden Yards and the Yankee Stadium). And I grew up in Nebraska which borders Missouri so can root for St. Louis. Only reason I would be for the Mets would be to side with Georgie. So I think I would like to see either a Detroit-Mets series or Detroit-St. Louis series.

Even I wouldn't feel too bad if Detroit went all the way. (Oh dear, did I just say that?)No matter what, the Mets have given their fans an outstanding season. I'll be going into withdrawal when baseball is over. I'll be forced to endure a few more NASCAR races and then football...just shoot me.

Having lived in St. Louis after my stint at the U of Mo. Columbia I have a tie to the Cards. At least one of the choices I have named "Cards" know how to win.(sob) WW
