Garrison Keillor did a live broadcast from Ocean Grove, NJ on Saturday night. That's the Methodist Camp Meeting town in which I work all summer. He was a hoot and a half! If any of you heard the broadcast, he was right on the money with the Ocean Grove/Methodist/NJ humor. The man does his homework! Appearing with him was guitarist Leo Kottke. Amazing.

I love his radio show. Was really tempted to travel to South Carolina to see him but I think it was a week night and too much effort.

Love Lake Woebegon and his subtle humor. To my knowledge in the 20 years I've listened to his show, he's never used a word of profanity. WW

I went to one of his shows many years ago and was completely overwhelmed by the fact that he does not read his Wobegon monologues--he seems to make it up on the spot.

My only complaint about his show is that he needs to add some music more to my liking! Oh well, he never asked me for advice...

My Norwegian grandparents in Wisconsin loathed him -- they felt almost personally attacked by Wobegon and some of his other essays. I've always enjoyed his humor, and I even get a subtle kick out of his making fun of "Norskies" in a reminds-me-of-my-childhood sort of way.
