Yeah... have been watching Fox periodically all day.... painful. Hard to believe it's been eight years already, and we haven't killed that @@%$#$$# yet!

Was getting the horn on my car repaired and the auto dealer had the Fox News channel on. Pretty good coverage of memorial events. When they reshowed footage from the Twin Towers I couldn't help shedding a few tears. Brought back the horror and anger and helplessness of that day. Three of my acquaintances were on duty in the Pentagon that day--one suffered physical injuries; the other two suffered psychological trauma (nightmares, trembling brought on by the sound of helicopters overhead, etc.)

Wonders, tell that person who's spooked by the sound of helicopters overhead that that's one of the sweetest sounds ever made.... to keep in mind that it's coming for YOU.... for your extraction from Indian Country, or medevac, or fire support, or re-supply. It's the beating of an angel's wings who's been sent to carry you home. Doesn't get much sweeter than that.

I didn't really want to post here about this, but Judy and I still frequently think of and pray for the souls and families of the 19 friends, co-workers and family members we lost eight years ago. Still very sad memories, and will probably be with us forever.

That's a day I can't forget. I lost a lot of great clients/friends at Cantor Fitzgerald. Really hurts to think about it. My condolences to all who lost loved ones. 19 is a big number of broken hearts.
