Been able to taste a smattering of '08 kabinetts and while it is only based on about a dozen producers that I do not generally purchase, it does appear that the 08 Rieslings from Germany will have that nice true Kabinett level wine. That is great news for me so that I will have something other than Loire wines (sorry VH) to go to during the summer months when looking for a nice light wine. Looking forward to tasting some of the more established bottles (Donnhoff, Prum, etc,..)

Hey, I never say no to a good kabinett.

Just had St Urbans Hof 2008 qba yesterday (now labeled simply "urban"). Didn't really work for me, but it was one hell of a stressful day, so maybe I wasn't really open to it... After a lovely morning at the botanical gardens celebrating my mother's birthday, some St Patrick's Day Celebrating teenage fool decided to make a right turn from the middle lane, not realizing we were occupying the lane between him and his turn. We're all fine, baby included, but not a fun afternoon all the same. I'll try the rest of the bottle today and see if I'm still unimpressed.

Any widely available '08 kabinetts stand out to you? I like them; my pa loves them.

(we put the tempier rose on hold until this weekend)
