IK. Finished my online banking and decided to make my monthly visit to brand Xs' site when lo & behovven Karl asked a simple question that was turned into a vitrolic, biased, and completely one-sided outpouring of nonesense I've seen since the election rhetoric. A complete re-hash of pre-election hype, Bucko I was ALMOST tempted to jump in and help you out, but then reminded myself why I quit posting there. WW

He's talking about my post on the Winelovers Board about the Iraq election. Didn't mean to cause such an uproar and thanks for staying out of it.

They still don't get it, and seem intent on following Chappaquidick Teddy off a cliff. Let 'em have their board; I've got better things to do than waste more time there.

IK, I made a vow to stay out of ALL online political discussions--mainly because they take on a life that can hardly be described as "discussion."

Anyway, I just read the thread. All I can say is: a lot of people make a lot of statements without really knowing anything about history. It is one more reason to stay out of such arguments. I am really uninterested in reading or hearing uninformed opinions--I like it when facts play a role in a discussion.

Thot I used great restraint Buckster. Hotsie, you'd think the Bush-Bashers would find some new comments, observations, or actual facts that haven't been beaten to death on the internet already. And yes, I admire the Iraquis' determination and courage. WW

Yes, but that doesn't excuse IK -- the rabble rouser. I think we should stone him in the town square for daring to mention anything positive about Iraq.

QUINTUS: "People should know when they're conquered."
MAXIMUS: "Would you, Quintus? Would I?"

Taken from the opening scene of Gladiator as the Romans prepare to conquor Germania....Food for thought.

He really stirred up a sh*t storm. I bailed out of that thread -- too much venom.
