This was in Dan Berger`s newsletter and seein` as how I normally agree with his palate I ordered a case. Naturally, the derned stuff came whilst I`m on a sabattical so I had my next door neighbors coma over and opened a bottle. I`m the worlds1 worst spitter-outer but this lil` gem left an impression. Kain`t wait to get to swallow this sucker. Drew, this is rite down your alley, Under !0 Bucks! Way to go Danl`. Winoweenie

1999 McPherson, Shiraz Cabernet, SE Australia, $8, 50,000 cases. Somewhat simple, but loaded with spicy plums and balancing acidity. Made in a drink-me-now style, this would complement a pasta with red sauce.

...and I just got back from the wine store having bought a case of 1998' J & F Lurton Syrah, Vin de Pays d'Oc Les Bateaux @, get this, less than $6 per bottle. I'll report on this maybe gem in a couple of hours. Thanks for the info. on the Aussie!
