2002 Columbia Crest, Gewurztraminer, Columbia Valley ($6.99 local super). Alcohol level 11.5%. After looking for a reasonably priced Gewurz at three different decent wine stores, finally picked this up at the local super after judging it would be better than the one dollar more expensive Beringer. It turned out to be a perfect choice.

It gave nice perfumed aromas of lavender and lychees on the nose which translated into vibrant fruit on the tongue tip. A rush of more fruit, spicyness, crispness, and a little bit of sweetness crossed the palate, and the finish lingered. Matched it with roast chicken teriyaki. Perfect as stated.

Dear IK,
I enjoyed this as well recently, although my man was not really impressed. Served it with plai roast chicken breast, flavored with Herbes de Provence. WD

I agree with Bucko. Gewurztraminer is a low-acid grape, and if picked late it seems to offer none. That is why the big guns make sure it has alcohoooool.
