With ideal etiquette in mind, what part of the meal should a Port be enjoyed?

Hi there Cobra, and welcome to the board. Forgive IKs' rudeness. Sometimes in his eagerness to answer a query he overlooks the nicities. Delightful with just-shelled fresh walnuts, or in my case, by the case. WW (Forgot to finish...... my Favorite and also many Brits love it with Stilton)

In my view, a fine Tawny, which is usually fairly dry for Port, can make a fine aperitif with those nuts of which ww speaks or with cheese. In addition, salad with a blue-cheese dressing--maybe sprinkled with nuts--finds Port a nice partner.
