I Looking for a White Zinfandel from California with the name Topiano. Tasted it for the first time in Montauk on Long Island and cannot find it anywhere to purchase. Liked it because of its mild and sweet flavor. Can anyone lead me to a place on Long Island, New York that sells it?

There's no winery in California with the name Topiano. It may be another made up name for the restaurant trade. Instead try the Beringer White Zinfandel. Better yet, try the Vin Gris de Cigare from Bonny Doon Vineyards. It's a much more interesting and tasty wine. BTW, we often stay at Gurney's in Montauk.

hi davesdad, and welcome to the wine board. i, too, cannot find any topiano winery. thought perhaps you might have meant foppiano, but they do not make a white zinfandel. so, in addition to KC's recommendations, let me suggest the CK Mondavi White Zinfandel. note that is *CK* not *Robert* Mondavi. the wine is very reasonably priced (about $5), very easy to find (most grocery stores) and quite tasty. year in, year out my favorite white zin.

This is a thank you to both KCWHIPPET and the NEWSGUY for replying to my question.
I just got back from Montauk and the NEWSGUY was right it is FOPPIANO and they do make a White Zinfandel. I saw the bottle and label myself. It is from the Riverside Collection and comes from the Sonoma Valley of Calif.
All I have to do now is find a place that sells it. The restaurant that served it is now closed for the season.
That you again for the reply. This QUEST has certainly been informative.

you're welcome davesdad, and glad you've found your wine.

and IK, you impress me. i went to foppiano's website, clicked on the "our wines" link and saw the varietals. didn't see white zin wasn't one of them. guess i gave up too soon -- and that's why you're a moderator and i'm just a lowly 244-poster.
